The Everyday Blessings I'm Thankful For

As Thanksgiving approaches, I’ve been thinking about how much I have to be thankful for—my family, work I love, and opportunities to give back to a community that has given me so much.
Seeing my family doing well brings me tremendous joy. Time together can be easy to take for granted when life gets busy, and I want to slow down enough to appreciate it. I’m thankful for the Lord’s provision and for the people He has placed in my life.
That gratitude carries into my work. One of my favorite parts of Simply You is getting to know the people who come through our doors. I enjoy hearing about your families, celebrating good news with you, and catching up during appointments. Thank you for sharing those pieces of your life and trusting me with your care.
There is plenty to be thankful for within our team, too. Watching Alivia grow in her role has been a joy, and I’m excited to welcome Stephanie Gomolka, our new Physician Assistant.
The expanded space and new laser also give us much to be excited about. Behind those changes are people who have worked hard, offered encouragement, and patiently navigated a little disruption. I’m grateful for all of them—and for you.
Our September fall celebration was a wonderful reminder of how much I enjoy this community. Spending time together outside of appointments meant a lot to me. I also loved being part of the JOY International fundraising event and joining others in support of its work.
Giving back is one of the things that brings me the most joy. I’m thankful to be able to volunteer at Bergen Park Church and support our church, organizations like JOY International and Kitchen One for One, local school teams, and community fundraisers. Your support of Simply You helps make that possible. It’s a privilege to play a small part in caring for the community we call home.
I’m also learning to appreciate opportunities to pause. Closing the practice for a week this summer and taking time to recover from eye surgery reminded me that rest needs a place on the calendar, too. Being on the patient side of care gave me a fresh appreciation for the patience recovery requires.
This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the life the Lord has given me and for the many people who make it meaningful. Thank you for being part of it.
I hope you have time this season to rest, enjoy the people you love, and appreciate the everyday blessings in your own life.
With gratitude,
Michelle Waller, PA-C
